Belle House Media ~
Belle House Media’s mission is to amplify uplifting, affirming voices and stories that reflect the lives, imagination, and possibilities of Black young people. We promote creating media that nurtures identity, confidence, and joy.
Belle House Media was created as a response to a simple but powerful need: a place where meaningful, positive stories about Black life could live together in one home.
Too often, Black stories are framed through struggle alone or told without care for nuance, joy, and humanity. Belle House Media exists to shift that narrative by centering stories that affirm identity, celebrate culture, and reflect the fullness of Black experience.
This is a home for stories rooted in care, intention, and truth. Stories that remind us who we are, where we come from, and what we carry forward.
Meet the Founder
Belle House Media was founded by Megan McFatten, a storyteller and community-centered leader with a deep belief in the power of voice, representation, and early affirmation. Rooted in culture, care, and intention, Megan created Belle House Media as a home for uplifting stories that amplify and affirm Black young people.
Megan’s commitment to youth is shaped by both her education and professional experience. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences, with a minor in Communication Studies, from the University of Florida, where she studied child and adolescent development, family systems, and the role communication plays in shaping identity and connection. This foundation deeply informs her belief that stories influence how young people understand themselves and their possibilities.
Professionally, Megan has worked directly with children and families through Florida’s child welfare system, supporting youth navigating placement, advocacy, and care coordination. These experiences reinforced her understanding that young people deserve not only stability, but also affirmation, visibility, and stories that reflect them with dignity and care.
Megan received her MBA from Texas A&M University Mays Business School, where her studies focused on leadership, strategy, and building sustainable, mission-driven organizations. She also brings experience in change management and service design, leading work centered on human centered outcomes.
Through Belle House Media, Megan brings together her academic training, lived experience, and passion for storytelling to steward a media house that treats stories as something to be held with care.
Belle House Media is more than a publisher. It is a gathering place, a home for stories that matter.
